If you're just stopping by, feel free to browse the blog to hear our story, but in a nutshell, we're adopting our son, Max, from Ethiopia. He'll join his big sister and big brother here with us in Mississippi. We recently joined our agency's waitlist at #89, and we're learning patience! In an email from our agency yesterday, we found out the current wait time for a referral, from the the time a dossier is submitted, is now 12-15 months...and of course those time frames always fluctuate. We are one month closer to our little man! While we wait, we're fundraising to help bring him home....
We have about 50 T-shirts in adult sizes S-XL left from our sale back in the fall, and we'd love to send one your way! They are $20 each, plus $3 for shipping. The shirts are super soft! You can get a fun shirt, raise adoption awareness every time you wear it, and help us bring our son home!! Check out the design on the right sidebar or contact me for more information....
We are also starting a new fundraising effort....collecting old cell phones, digital cameras and iPods! We're partnering with a recycling company that provides funds in exchange for sending in old phones...and who doesn't have a few of those stuck in a drawer??? I know we do because we never know what to do with them when it's time for an upgrade or a change in service providers!

And don't worry about your privacy....phones that can be reused have their data cleared through a process called flashing, which reloads the phone software and clears out all data on the phone. The data on phones that can’t be reused is destroyed by melting them down for their precious metals here in the US of A.
Please let me know if you have some phones/cameras/ipods for us....just email me at meaghangordon@hotmail.com. We'll gladly help you declutter! :) Our plan is to ship the first batch of phones in March.
Thanks again for your interest in helping us give a precious soul a family! We are beyond grateful for your prayers and support! Hurry home, Max! :)

Does the age or model of the electronics matter? I actually have an old computer that needs to go, and I don't know how to dispose of it. I may have some old Southern Lincs around too... if age doesn't matter, I'll pile them in a box and send them to you. Let me know!
Love and miss y'all!
Hey, I saw on Kelly's Korner that you were a fundraising family. I wanted to let you know of a program we are offering to fundraising families through The Sparrow Fund (www.sparrow-fund.org) that allows them to sell items like the ones on our fundraising Etsy site (www.thesparrowfund.etsy.com). If you are interested in learning more about it, feel free to email me and I'll send the info along!
Kelly
