Christmas overload!

I wanted to break this post up into several parts, but I thought I'd lose my motivation unless I just did it all at once! This is mostly for our memories, so it's a LONG way to the end! :)

Our first Christmas celebration took place at my mom's house with my Mammaw's family. Fun times!
MR and Noah
Waiting patiently to open presents...
His momma may have dressed him in a bubble, but Murphy is All-Boy! He LOVED his new trucks!
He probably made 400 laps around M's house that night with this new dump truck from Aunt Rhonda and Uncle Brent! LOVES IT!
T-R-O-U-B-L-E...Uncle George and Murphy
Mary Reeves racked up in the Princess department!
I think this may have been our only family pic from Christmas....the sickness would soon set in!
My family
We had a great time and the kids stayed up too late playing with their new toys, which did not bode well for the next few days for Mary Reeves. :(

We headed to the Gordon's the next morning for cousin time that night....
 more presents on Christmas Eve...
and the jackpot for MR, her new Jeep!
She is still working on the whole pushing-the-pedal-while-steering-the-wheel-and-looking-where-she-is-going thing! Murphy is a happy passenger and DJ on the Barbie radio!
Unfortunately, she came down with a fever/cough/stomach bug that afternoon and the joyfulness of the presents faded pretty quickly. This is probably the last time she smiled that day, but we headed home to get ready for Santa to visit our house.
Mary Reeves felt so bad that she didn't even want to leave cookies for Santa or spread the reindeer food. So sad!! She had been excited about it all month, but she was just pitiful. Wes had to do it for her.
Coerced into leaving cookies for the camera....
MR wouldn't pose for a sibling shot, but this little series of Murphy is too funny! That guilty face just shoved one of Santa's cookies in his mouth...
and took off...
but then he came back and pointed to the Santa on his cookie plate. Murphy knew who was supposed to eat those cookies! :)
Santa came the next morning, but MR didn't race to see her loot. She just crawled in bed with us after being up several times throughout the night until we told her she needed to go see what he brought. Notice that she is now in summer pjs instead of the cute Christmas ones I bought....she was burning up!
She did try on one of her princess costumes...the only thing she asked for. (Sidenote: after ALL the fun things she got for Christmas, she tells people she got toothpaste, as in the little tube stuck in her stocking! Typical!)
At least Murphy had a blast!!
After a few minutes looking at the Santa stuff, this is pretty much how she spent the next three days. Boo! :(
My mom, grandmother and uncle were supposed to spend Christmas Day with us, but my grandmother got sick too, and Wes and I had terrible colds. Needless to say, no visitors for several days. :(

Thankfully, one doctor in Starkville opened up for a few hours the day after Christmas, and we were first in line! Wes, MR and I all got some antibiotics and slowly started feeling better. Definitely not the Christmas I had imagined, but we tried to make the best of it! We still spent lots of time together and were able to remember the real Reason for the Season!

Finally, we headed to Nashville...but unfortunately, MR's medicine remained in the fridge! The sweet doctor's office called us in a refill up there, but insurance didn't cover it since it wasn't time for refill...oh well! Do what you have to do!

The last fete was Stringer Christmas with Winston as Santa and MR as his elf!
 Thanks, Sheri, for hosting everyone!
 Murf and BeBe
 Family pic....minus Pop's forehead.
We were all feeling much better, and we had a great time in Franklin. It had been way too long since we'd been up there!

Whew, I'm tired just reliving all this, but I'm thankful for celebrations with our family!
